SOMLD 2016 – Week 13 [Final Lecture]

Last week of lecture phase flew by so fast. We were happy to have Chuck and Bobbie Hamm back with us to teach on cross-cultural ministry. This was a great way to end the school learning how to be teachable and respecting other cultures as we reach out to them.

We have made it through the lecture phase of our school and we are now on our on field assignments. Some of us are doing different things for this part of the school. So this little update is to inform you what each of us students are doing for this part of the school.

Eric and Sarah have joined the DTS team as co-leaders. They are in Cambodia for 7 weeks. They get to join up with Justice Waters for 2 weeks there to help build water filter for villages. This outreach is God led and we are excited to hear the stories they have when they come back. Be praying for them as they lead this team, that there is unity and they have energy.

Jaron is staying in Vancouver to be staff for YWAM Mission Adventures and Reclaim. Mission Adventures have teams come for a week to do an urban outreach in Vancouver. This is a great way for the youth to have experience in having God's heart for the city and all the people living in it, learning how to reach out to all these different people. Reclaim is a 12 day discipleship for youth ages 14-18 focused on shows them God's heart for them and all the nations. Hopefully stirring up their passion for the mission field. He is also an intern for West Coast Christian Fellowship.

Rachel is also staying in Vancouver to help Hannah with a research project. She will be doing research on the least reached people groups in Vancouver. Getting to know the people and hopefully getting to meet them. The end result of this research project will be a 30-day prayer-booklet which will highlight one unreached people group for every day of the month. She will also be staffing Reclaim.

There won't be anymore updates for the SOMLD, please check the DTS updates to see all that they are doing for outreach.
