We had a great week with Barry Esau! His goal was to equip us to share God's Word to people from different nations and with other beliefs
. Barry first showed us that God's heart is for all peoples and all nations, so we need to get his word out to them. God has called us to this task, so we need to understand his heart and intention for everyone. Our passion was stirred up to give glory to God and make Him known in all nations.
We got to learn a bit about the worldviews of Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims, and what they believe. I loved this statement: "The gospel doesn't change, but the way we communicate may change." We need to communicate in such a way that people can receive and understand what we are saying. We then had a great time role-playing in class to practice different ways of sharing the gospel with people from diverse religious backgrounds.
We ended the week learning how we can take advantage of media and got some resources that will help us as we share God's word with others. Media and human interaction, are the best tools for communication, so we should use both to complete the task of making God known.
Saturday was a work day for us, and we did a deep clean for the student house and the YWAM Centre. It felt good to work together as a team to accomplish a lot. The rest of Saturday we rested and watched a movie. We wanted to take time to relax and reflect before starting our final week of lecture.
