General

Any staff, student or volunteers who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, chills, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, headache is required to stay home and is encouraged to consult their doctor or BC COVID-19 self assessment tool for testing. If they test positive, they will be required to self isolate until cleared by public health.

All staff, students or volunteers is encouraged to wash their hands regularly and to keep physical distance with others outside their households according to BC health regulations.

RULES FOR NEW STAFF, STUDENTS AND VOLUNTEERS

Internationals.
14 day Self-Quarantine in accordance with BC health regulations. Plans must be provided to health officials in BC before travelling! (YWAM Vancouver is not responsible for self isolation, but will be able to give advice and offer support in logistics, groceries etc.)

Canadians.
The following questions must be communicated before travelling in preparation for arrival.
  • Are you experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19? Are you feeling well?
  • Have you been exposed to someone with symptoms?
  • Have you travelled outside of Canada in the past month?
  • Have you tested positive for COVID-19 in the past?

YWAM HOUSE RULES AND GUIDELINES

  • Sanitize hands when entering YWAM housing (Sanitation Station).
  • Residents are encouraged to use the BC COVID-19 self-assessment tool or call 8-1-1 if they are unsure. If they answer “yes” to any of the questions, local public health must be contacted for guidance as required.
  • Thermometer available in YWAM housing for checking temperature.
  • Daily work duties assigned to clean handles and frequently touched places in addition to normal work duties.
  • Minimize outside visitors. All visitors will be required to fill in the sign in sheet at the entrance of YWAM housing with their name, phone number and date they visited.

COVID-19 POSITIVE RESPONSE

IN PERSON MEETINGS

  • Sanitation Station is set up at the entrance for corporate meetings.
  • Sign in sheets are set up at the entrance.
  • Attendees are required to bring their own mask. Masks are required when physical distancing of 2 meters is not possible.
  • The space chosen for the meeting location must be able to accommodate two metres distance between households members or physical barriers are installed.
  • Individually packed foods and drinks can be distributed but no shared food is allowed at any time.
These guidelines will be communicated and explained to staff and students by their team leader on a regular basis.

This is subject to change as the province guidelines advance.
